Double Header – Double Wins

On the 6th of September the Tokyo Gaijin RFC (TGRFC) gathered in Akigase, near Nishi Urawa in Saitama for their first double-header in some time. A big squad of 34 guys answered the call to arms. First up was All Jin Jan, a strong team, and favorites to win the League. The Gaijin were keen for a measure of revenge as they had been demoted from Tokyo Cup 1st Division in the Spring season in a muddy 7v0 loss, while All Jin Jan had smashed Rocco East on the same day to gain promotion to 1st Division.

Gaijin lose Shuto League Crown

Dateline: November 16th, 2009

Despite a strong win over the Gentle Giants (40 v 12) yesterday the Gaijin failed to peg back the lead of All Jin Jan and missed out on their chance for a third straight Shuto League title. All Jin Jan finished the Autumn season with a superior bonus points tally, pipping the Gaijin by just one point (See the table below).

Matt Downer wins MVP at Christmas Party Awards Night 2009

 

The Tokyo Gaijin players, partners, helpers and friends gathered at Vino Vita restaurant in Nihonbashi on Saturday night, December 12th, to celebrate Christmas and give out their annual Awards. Captain Murray Clarke kicked off proceedings with a run-down of the year that was.

The Form Book is Wide Open.

With the Autumn inter hemisphere tests coming to an end there has been a real shake-up amongst the ranks.  This means that those looking to get in for some early odds with a good return, should think about talking to their local bookies now ahead of the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand.
