RiJ this week brings you continuing Asian Qualification for RWC 07. The Sunday before in Tokyo the CBs played their first home Test of the season & put Hong Kong to the sword 91-3.  This weekend in Seoul the CBs took revenge for the draw last year with a 50-31 victory over Korea. RiJ also squeezes in this week a brief report on the recent Sanix World Rugby Youth Invitational Tournament 2005. Bit of a mouthful, but a good tourney that brings together an interesting mix of Rugby & social cultures through high schools.

Kameari Get The Kizooch

Is Dave Kelver the best rugby player in Japan right now? Of course not. That's just dumb. But he's pretty handy and it was due in large part to his sterling form and to the outstanding work of the tight five - and in particular, the front row of Mark 'Maple Leaf' Pearson, Yukio 'Samurai' Suyama, and Chris 'Pubescent' Lucas - that Tokyo Gaijin finds itself in its second final in successive years.

Rugby in Japan Newsletter

RiJ this week brings you Asian Qualification for RWC 07 starting with Japan 91 beating Hong Kong 3. A lopsided game for Rugby fans to have their first look at the CBs for 2005 on home soil, but nonetheless pleasing to be on the inflicting side rather than the receiving side for a change. RiJ also wraps-up the recent NZU tour to Japan. Enjoy the read.

It’s All Gone Quiet Over ‘Ere

Back to a Kizooch Field at Tobu-Dobutsu-Koen that had metamorphosed from last year's infectious-disease-transmitting swamp into a semi-arid dust-bowl, to play in a mini-tournament that supposedly aided in some way Japan's national deaf rugby side in their preparations for the upcoming World Cup in Wales.
