Dateline: Sunday 6th November - 'Friendly' against 2nd Division club Moccos
Firstly, for a change, thanks to all the helpers and support that got out to the game against Moccos on Sunday the 6th of November . We always appreciate your support and help and it was great to see your faces at the game. Thanks and please keep coming. Special mention goes to Mr Stride all the way from sunny Australia who was enjoying his first TGRFC rugby game.
Last weekend the Tokyo Gaijin played in a friendly (exhibition style) invitational game against the All Japan Deaf Rugby team at the national team training facility in Tatsumi, Tokyo. The weather was fine and pitch conditions perfect for a game of fast running rugby. The day also included some activities for the kids and an after-match function in the club rooms.
Dateline: 4th October,2009. It was a surprising turnout of players for the Tokyo Gaijin RFC with about 30 players showing up considering that 7 regular members couldn't make it. The weather had been kind and we were up against the bottom of the table Baku & Clover Club but even with the great turnout, it didn't seem to help with the performance.
It seems, as per usual protocol, that the Tokyo Gaijin played against 16 men, if you include the referee. It was a hard fought and tense game that eventually went the way of the Gaijin thanks to Matt scoring all the points and kicking a last play penalty to win the game.
